The Electric Energy Systems (EES) Laboratory is one of Laboratories of Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens.
The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a private law body associated with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). ICCS has been established in 1989 by the Ministry of Education in order to carry research and development activities in the fields of telecommunication systems and computer systems and their applications in a variety of applications, such as electric power systems, software and hardware engineering, control systems and biomedical engineering.
The Electric Energy Systems (EES) Laboratory has several activities in the field of Electric Power Systems and Distributed Generation, Renewable Energy Resources and Microgrids. More specifically EES, is involved in many EU projects as well as national and has a significant participation in conferences, seminars, workshops, journal publications. EES has built collaborations with other Universities, Research Institutes, utilities, companies and stakeholders originating in Greece and worldwide.
Main tasks in the project: ICCS will be heavily involved in the development of advanced functionalities in WP2 and WP3 such as RES forecasting, Planning and State Estimation. Furthermore it will lead WP4 (Proof of concept of flexible distribution system operation) performing the testing and the evaluation of various functionalities focusing on the Greek demonstration sites and test cases.  Finally ICCS will contribute in the definition of the overall system architecture in WP1.
